The Miami Heat played the Atlanta Hawks tonight in a match that was supposed to be a heated division contest. However, the game turned into a blow out.The Heat jumped out to a 30 to 18 first quarter lead that was never relinquished, behind a monster dunk from Lebron James. Lebron James and Dwayne Wade combined for 44 points while only playing sparingly in the fourth quarter.
Chris Bosh also contributed to the game with his double-double and the 31 to 13 first half rebounding advantage for the Heat. The rebounding edge turned into probably the key of the game for the Heat and their victory. This was mostly caused by the absence of Atlanta Hawks center Al Horford.
On a night where the Hawks honored one of their past greats, they did not play an inspired game. The Hawks' starters only scored 40 points in the loss and their star player Joe Johnson only scored 12. This team will need to pick up the pace if they look to win South East division because they are now only 5 and 5 in their last ten.
